Calendar of School Events

Fukuyama City University has adopted a "four-quarter system", which is somewhat unique among Japanese universities.

With the four-quarter system, the academic year is divided into four quarters and classes last for eight weeks. Students attend each class twice a week such that, in comparison with the large number of students in two-semester system universities, coursework can be concentrated into a short period of time and students are expected to have higher learning effectiveness.

Additionally, being able to complete a course in the eight-week short-period makes it easier to set course objectives and allows students to remain highly motivated.
